History of the Sesh – Prohibition

£20.00

Sesh

noun

  1. A colloquial term for drinking responsibly with friends.

History of the Sesh is a boozy study of the history of cocktails, where each month we take a look at a different historical time period and explore the drinks that were popular at the time, and how modern cocktail culture has been shaped because of them.

This month, we’ll take a look at Prohibition (1920-1933) in the United States, where the government banned the production and sale of alcohol in an ill measured attempt to curb the rising drinking problem under considerable pressure from various groups of people. We’ll discuss how this came about, what folks were drinking at the time, and how cocktail culture was forever changed because of Prohibition, as well as how alcohol managed to make its way into the states, including Rum Runners from the Caribbean.

Over the course of an hour and a half, you’ll get four cocktail samples (1/2 sized). The bar will be open for service before, during, and after the event.
